Hey people!
Okies.. as you know the squashies left early today to go for a competiton... well the seniors competed and erm.. we cheered:D Anyway, I shall only tell you the results at the end in order not to spoil the excitement... or disappointment.... well basically I just want you to read to the end. HAHA:D Okies so anyway, today we went to yio chu kang sports centre.. thingy.. Oh and you are never going to guess who we saw there! We saw Nicole Rosenburger!!! You know the girl who is super good in tennis and DSAed into RGS?? Yeah.. we saw here there together with other RGS tennis players. What a small world right? I mean what were the odds of seeing her there? Ok so anyway, Ms Tang handed a folder to us sec1s and told us that there was an assignment for each of the days the seniors played against other schools. So, she assigned us to a person and we were suppose to take notes of the good and bad points of the person we were assigned to then with them down and keep it as a "journal" so next time, when we are seniors, we would have a little experience already.
So first up competing against the star player from SCGS was bernice. I must say I could see that she put in ALOT of effort. She was running for the ball like crazy... She seemed very very very nervous... and that was a bad sign. Nicole Toh said that she was not playing as well as she normally played. In the end, yeah... she lost but nevermind... it is not her fault. She put in alot of effort... it ws just that the other girl was really good.. or at least she knew how to make people run that is. Next up was the girl who I was assigned to. Her name is Jillian and she is the star player from MGS. You see.. she's very good... she's a national player... SO PRO RIGHT???Anyway, when she stepped into the court, she was super calm and confident which was a good sign because normally people would not be able to perform well when they are nervous. She did not disappoint us! She won!! What I noticed about Jillian was that she was able to place the ball very nicely such that the opponent would not be able to hit the ball. Yeah.. she made the opponent run ALOT. Ms Tang said Jillian normall did better. She made alot of false errors. Personally I think she did quite well.. I mean apart from winning, she did put in quite some effort... though..it was not as much as bernice. The only thing bad was that sometimes she was quite reluctant to run. LOL.. I said too much about her ( what? I mean after all, I observed her game the closest!)
Now, I am not going to reveal whether the player won or lost because I don't want to let you know thw results.. whether we won or not. So next up was Yi Ling. I think she didn't exactly do very well but.. I don't really know cause I've never seen her play before. Personally I thought she could have done better... I think.. she made quite a few mistakes and was quite reluctant to run. The jackson house mg squashie beside me kept going :" RUN! YI LING RUN!" haha:D Next up was Hannah! ( Jessica's sister) She was this other girl who could not make it. Hannah was very very good! I could tried very very very hard to reach the ball every time. I think this match was the most interesting one because the relays were so long and we were all so tense. So whenever a player wins the ball, the school would scream! haha:D The girl from SCGS, emily, dropped alot and when I say alot I really mean ALOT! Poor hannah.. she had to run so much! Finally the last and final player was Zhi Jing. I thought she did fine but .. could have done a little better. I actually found her very calm through out the game. She was smiling most of the time even though sometimes she lost a point. So now she the moment you've all been waiting for.. the results. I'm sorry to disappoint you.. but we lost. Sadly. Yi Ling, Zhi Jing and even Hannah, they all lost to SCGS. So sad right? nevermind! wo men hui jia you! Tomorrow, the C div girls are going to play against SCGS' C div group. I hope they do well. Remember to keep them in your prayers ok? thx. I'll try to post about tom's match tom. BYE now
